This refreshing orange guava juice is the perfect summer drink! Made with just a few simple ingredients, this super easy, healthy orange guava drink comes together in less than 10 minutes!
Healthy Summer Drink
There’s something so appealing a cold, refreshing fruit drink in the summer time. Pouring yourself a large glass of a freshly made fruit juice over ice and sitting out in the beautiful summers sun is hard to beat! This recipe makes the perfect amount for 2 generous sized drinks, so whip up this drink and enjoy it with a friend, or save yourself another glass for later!
I love that this is a nutritious option for a summer drink. Guava and oranges have tons of vitamin C, which has so many benefits for your skin and immune system. It is also so important to stay hydrated in the summer, and orange guava juice is such a satisfying way to get in more liquid. Also, although fruit has quite a bit of natural sugar, this drink does not have any added sugars, and it is made with very simple ingredients. What a great option to have instead of soda!
Jugo de guayaba y naranja
This recipe was inspired by my husband, who spent a little over a year in Mexico City. He reminisced about the street vendors who would have their tempting, freshly-made fruit juices on sale for next to nothing. What a treat! You certainly can’t find anything like that in the States.. at least not for a reasonable price
Thankfully, with a little experimenting, I was able to recreate one of his favorite juices that he had in Mexico City — orange guava juice. It is truly so delicious and refreshing, and it only takes a few very simple ingredients!
I use one whole fresh orange along with bottled orange juice in this recipe, but of course it would be extremely delicious to juice your own fresh orange juice to use in place of the bottled stuff as well! Depending on the size and juiciness of your oranges, it would take about 4 more oranges to make 1 cup of orange juice. If you really feeling like making something special, or you just happen to have lots of oranges to use up, be sure to give this a try!
Orange Guava Juice or Smoothie?
This recipe is the perfect consistency to be poured over ice and drank with a straw. It still has the pulp from the guava and the orange, so the texture is a little thicker than some juices you might buy in the store, but still would be classified as juice. Of course, if you want to make it a little thinner, you can always add a splash more water or orange juice!
If you want to make an orange guava smoothie, simply leave out 1/2 cup of the orange juice and the 1/2 cup water. This will leave you with 2 guavas, 1 orange, 1 cup of ice, and 1/2 cup orange juice. This will give you a much thicker, smoothie like texture.
How to serve orange guava juice
The very best way to serve this drink is nice and cold. I’m not usually an ice person, but something about the tropical, citrus flavors in this juice make it so delicious when served with ice! That’s why ice is included in this recipe. Not only does it give the juice a better texture, but it makes the drink stay cold a little longer.
Store any leftover orange guava juice in the refrigerator, covered. It will stay good for up to 3 days. If you have to store it in the refrigerator, there will be some separation between the pulp and the juice, so just give it a good stir before serving!
