This easy, small batch homemade BBQ sauce recipe is made from scratch and is perfect for brisket, ribs, chicken, or anything else you can imagine.

BBQ sauce is one of those things I don’t always have on hand. I’ll buy it every once in a while, but once I run out, I never remember to put it back on the grocery list! Now that I have this easy BBQ sauce recipe, I probably won’t be buying BBQ sauce from the store anymore. It is so easy to whip the amount you’ll need for a meal; and then you don’t have to worry about keeping BBQ sauce stocked in the refrigerator.
This homemade BBQ sauce recipe is made from pantry ingredients that you probably always have hanging around in the first place, meaning a delicious homemade BBQ sauce is always only minutes away.

Quick BBQ Sauce
Recently I was really struggling with what to make for dinner. I had some leftover roast that had nothing but a small amount of salt on it, and I had some bread.. the perfect setup for a roast sandwich! Unfortunately, I didn’t have any sauce to put on it.. and plain pot roast on bread isn’t a terribly exciting dinner. That’s when I remembered how easy it is to whip up BBQ sauce! I don’t know why it slips my mind so often.
So long as you have some meat thawed and ready to be cooked, you’re not far away from a simple, delicious dinner that everyone will love. You can make BBQ chicken sandwiches, Pulled pork sandwiches, or serve leftover pot roast with bbq sauce and some potatoes.. yum!
BBQ sauce is extremely quick to make because all you have to do is put the ingredients in the bowl and mix it together. It really doesn’t get any faster than that.

BBQ Sauce Without Molasses
This homemade BBQ sauce is made without molasses, but still has the rich flavor of molasses. Instead of using molasses in the BBQ sauce, this recipe uses dark brown sugar, which contains quite a bit of molasses to begin with. Further darkness and depth of flavor is added to this homemade BBQ sauce with Worcestershire sauce.
Of course, you can always replace a bit of the brown sugar with molasses for an extra strong flavor. Because this recipe uses brown sugar instead of molasses or honey, it also helps give the BBQ sauce a thicker texture. If you do want to add a bit of molasses, keep in mind that the texture will be slightly thinner than it would be if you used only brown sugar!

Small Batch BBQ Sauce for Two
This recipe makes a good amount for two people to use on sandwiches, as a dip for ribs, or some other BBQ sauce use where you really don’t need a whole cup of BBQ sauce! I made it this way because I’m often whipping up a small amount of BBQ sauce to use with leftover meat, especially to make BBQ sandwiches.
I also use this recipe if I’m wanting a larger amount of BBQ sauce. It’s super easy to double or triple, or quadruple the recipe for whatever amount you’ll need. I often go by the amount of people I’m serving, or the number of meat servings I’m preparing BBQ sauce for. If I have 4 servings of meat instead of two, I would simply double the recipe to make enough sauce.
Only you can know how much sauce you and your family or guests like for dipping, so prepare accordingly!
