This 3 ingredient Healthy Vanilla Shake is so creamy and delicious, and it’s also naturally sweetened, making it a delicious and nutritious afternoon snack on a hot summer day!

Nutritious Summer Drinks
It’s officially summer time, and that means I’m often craving something cold, refreshing, and lightly sweet to sip on! Whether that be sweet tea, strawberry smoothie, or orange guava juice, it’s hard to resist having something cold to drink.
It may seem convenient to buy drinks at the grocery store or gas station to have on hand when the craving strikes, but it’s actually so easy and satisfying to make a refreshing summer drink by yourself! This not only saves a huge amount of money, but it can also save your health.
Store bought drinks are often loaded with artificial flavors and sweeteners, and even the “health” drinks aren’t always super nutritious. Making homemade drinks ensures that you’re getting all of the nutrients from freshly blended fruits and vegetables, and you can decide exactly what you do and don’t want in your beverage.

Healthy Vanilla Shake for One
This recipe can be made in a single serving blender, and will make about enough to fill a 16oz glass. You can always double or triple this recipe in a regular sized blender to make a sweet treat for yourself and others.
I would not recommend making extra of this shake to save for later, because the texture will change significantly. If you store extra in the refrigerator, you will end up with a sweet milk as the ice melts, and if you store extra in the freezer, the shake will turn very solid! The best thing to do is drink it as soon as you make it.
There is one way to save the extra shake mixture if you do happen to make too much. Just pour the remaining shake mixture into an ice cube tray, place it in the freezer, and re-blend the shake cubes with a little bit of milk whenever you want it.

Vanilla Shake Without Ice Cream
I debated on whether to call this a shake.. After all, is a shake really a shake without ice cream? In the case of this recipe, I decided that it absolutely was a shake. Thick, creamy, sweet, with a delicious vanilla flavor.. it ticks all the boxes! You can certainly tell that it doesn’t have the same sweetness and richness as a shake made with lots of ice cream would have, but that’s not always a bad thing..
This recipe is perfect because it means you can enjoy this nutritious, healthy vanilla shake without any hesitation, and your kids will love it, too! You can feel good about “treating” you kids to this healthy vanilla shake, because it is a balanced snack with carbs, protein, and fat, and the natural sweetener and raw milk make it extremely nutritious. Top it with whipped cream if you want to make it extra special!

How to Freeze Milk in Ice Cube Trays
Freezing milk in ice cube trays is a convenient, simple way to store leftover milk.
First, pour your milk evenly into the ice cube trays and place them on a flat surface in your freezer for at least 3 hours, or until solid.
Remove the ice cube trays from the freezer and, one tray at a time, run the underside of the tray under warm water for about 10 seconds to loosen the frozen milk cubes from the tray. Place the ice cube tray against a plate or a cutting board to make sure none of the ice cubes fall into the sink.
Transfer the frozen milk cubes into a gallon ziplock freezer bag and store in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Whenever you want to make a smoothie or a shake, just pull out the frozen milk cubes and throw them into the blender!

8 Frozen Milk Ice Cubes* (Equivalent to 1 cup Milk)
