These tasty, grass-fed gelatin orange gummies are the perfect healthy snack! Pro-metabolic and gut friendly bovine gelatin is what makes these gummies especially healthy.
Grass-Fed Gelatin?
When you first hear the term ‘grass-fed bovine gelatin’, your first though might not be “Yum!”
It would probably be something more like “Boy, that sure does sound healthy“
I’m here to let you know that ‘healthy’, and ‘yum’ go together beautifully in this instance!
Grass-fed bovine gelatin gummies are loaded with tons of amino acids that are so hard to get enough of these days. What with all the chicken breasts and ground beef we consume on a daily basis, it’s no wonder that it’s helpful to supplement with a little gelatin every once in a while.
Although I try to make lots of nutritious chicken bone broth to get my collagen and gelatin in, some weeks it just doesn’t happen. That’s why it’s super helpful to have some of these gummies in the fridge to have along with a nourishing breakfast or afternoon snack.
Simple and kid-friendly gummies
These grass-fed gelatin orange gummies are perfect for kids too, because they have such a fun texture, and it’s easy to mix up the flavors to keep things interesting!
These gummies are also surprisingly filling and have just the right amount of sweetness. Of course, if you would prefer them more sweet you can always add touch of honey as well!
This simple recipe is made with orange juice (I used pulp free orange juice, not from concentrate), but if you happen to have lots of fresh oranges laying around, this recipe could also be made with the same quantity of fresh-squeezed orange juice!
Make these grass fed gelatin orange gummies for packed lunches, a quick addition to breakfast, or a simple pro-metabolic snack. Pair these gummies with some raw cheddar, a boiled egg, or another type of protein to boost the gelatin benefits!
With just 3 ingredients, these gummies come together super quickly. You can also pour the mixture into little shaped moulds if you want fun shaped gummies! It would make the perfect fun, healthy snack for kids.
Ingredients
2 c. Orange Juice
1/4 c. Grass-fed Gelatin Powder
1 c. Water
How to make Grass-fed Gelatin Orange Gummies
Measure out 1 cup of water in a liquid measuring cup, then sprinkle on the 1/4 cup gelatin and stir very thoroughly.
Try to get as many gelatin lumps out as possible. Allow the water/gelatin mixture to sit while you heat up the orange juice.
In a small-medium sized pot, heat up the 2 cups of orange juice over medium heat until warm to the touch, stirring occasionally.
Pour the water/gelatin mixture into the warm orange juice, and stir until the mixture is smooth and the gelatin is dissolved.
Pour the mixture into an 8×8 baking dish, or a couple smaller glass dishes.
Place your dish in the refrigerator, and allow the mixture to cool for at least 2 hours, or until firm enough to cut.
Once firm, use a butter knife to loosen up the gummy mixture from the edges of the baking dish, then slice the gummies into your preferred size.
Enjoy!
Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to a week
Notes
I used pulp-free orange juice, which gives these gummies a smoother texture. You can also use orange juice with pulp if you’d rather!
There’s no need to grease the glass baking dish or line it with anything; the gummies will come out easily once you cut around the edges with a butter knife
Save these grass-fed gelatin orange gummies for later!
